Is Your Brand Stuck in Neutral?

If you are like most entrepreneurs, you have a fire in your belly to do great things. You want to impact the world in a big way and build a successful business. The only problem is, you’re not quite sure how you’re going to do it.

You probably started your business just trying to get clients in the door. You went to networking events, built relationships and eventually started getting referrals. Now, however, just as you’ve passed the stage of getting your business up and running…things have stalled. No matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to generate the momentum you need to kick your brand to the next level. What’s happening?

We’ve all been there. It’s not a marketing problem or even a client problem. No my friend, what you have is a vision problem. You have a blind spot. No matter how hard you try, you cannot see the very thing you need to get you out of neutral. Before you panic, you need to realize it’s completely natural to get stuck.

Our brains are not designed to make us successful. They are designed to keep us safe. If you are alive and reading this article, your brain has done its job. However, if you want to thrive instead of just survive, you are going to have to do something your brain is not going to like very much. You are going to have to stick your neck out. Yikes!

How did it make you feel to read that last line? Nervous, anxious? Stick your neck out, isn’t that what chickens do right before they get their heads chopped off! You see, it feels very dangerous. Is it actually dangerous? Are you going to die? Probably not. You may get rejected by certain people and that may hurt. You may get criticized and that might sting, but you can’t let it stop you if you want to make a quantum leap in your business.

On the other side of your discomfort is the fruition of your mission! @HeatherPoduska (Tweet This)

You see, most of us already sense the things about ourselves that make us powerful and special. It is those very pieces of our hearts and souls that are needed to bring about the changes we so desperately want within our businesses and the world around us. How much brighter would your business shine if you unleashed your natural boldness? How many more lives would you touch if you told your whole story? How much more deeply would your audience be served if you embraced and shared your vulnerability?

No matter how much we applaud others for laying it on the line, when it’s our turn, we shut down. Actually, what happens is we shut down our awareness. Sure, we may sense we have a roaring lion deep in our belly, but no way no how is our safety brain going to let that sucker out. And so we sit stuck in neutral, frustrated and scared.

What we really fear is feeling alone. If we are too confident, people may abandon us. If we are too loud, people may turn away from us. If we take a risk and it doesn’t pan out, we’re afraid we’ll be left alone with feeling like a failure. It doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, it shouldn’t be that way.

The number one way to get unstuck is to get help.

If you want to be truly successful, getting support is the fastest most efficient way to reach your goals. When you have support, you feel freer to be bold. You can take risks knowing someone has your back. You can explore wild, creative ideas knowing there is someone there to pull you off the edge. There is more room to play, to stretch yourself and more potential for high-gear engagement which is EXACTLY what you need to propel your business and your brand to the next level!!

So next time you get frustrated with where you are, don’t ask yourself what you should do next. Instead, ask yourself, “Who do I need to help me see what’s in my blind spot?”

I love to hear your voice!

What would you do if you were not afraid?
